Quit Weed and Change Your Self-Image

Quit smoking weed by changing your self-image

There are many reasons young adults start smoking weed and most tend to revolve around their self-image. Maybe they want to fit in with a particular group at school, don’t feel loved at home, or they are just curious about it. It is true that for many, smoking weed makes them feel good for a short time. The critical thing to remember here is that NOT everybody is doing it! In fact, the majority of high school aged kids don’t smoke weed.

As a person continues to smoke weed and they have been doing it for some time they develop habits that tend to lead to a poor self-image. They avoid eye contact with others because they fear being exposed, they isolate themselves at home or only hang out with other people that use. When people continue in their bad habits or addictions they don’t see themselves as good enough and they feel others have the same view.

We are told that only “losers” use drugs and that we won’t amount to anything… well there is some truth to that but we can quit smoking weed and we can feel good about who we are and what we contribute to society without worrying about what others think.

“We are products of our own thinking and belief system.” How and what you think of yourself you will ultimately become. This is an old concept but it holds true. We must learn to love ourselves and see the good we have to offer. Smoking weed stands in the way, remove it and your life will change.

The fact is we ALL have something to offer whether you think so or not. We have a choice on how we live our lives and sometimes the consequences of our actions can haunt us years down the road giving the illusion that we don’t have control but persistence typically wins out. Take a moment to realize your potential.

  • Realize that you are smart enough to accomplish the things you want in life.
  • Admit to yourself that you have much to offer to society, whether that is at work or in your own family.
  • Remember you can’t be defeated unless you allow it.

Think of all that money you spend on smoking weed. Invest some of that money into a haircut, new clothes, and a gym membership and watch as you are transformed.

You may feel overwhelmed and scared… that is okay but you have to try. Stop thinking of yourself as a drug user with no control over your life and think of yourself as a smart, motivated, energetic, go getter with the world at your finger tips.

Love yourself and think about the person you want to be, not the person you used to be.
